A BEAUTIFUL GEORGIAN HOME
Bantry House and Garden is a stately home on the southern edge of the town of Bantry in South West Ireland. From its location, the house offers views over Bantry Bay.
Sitting amidst a magnificent park, the main house and formal gardens are well worth a visit.
Bantry House is a Georgian home dating back to 1740. At the time, it was the home of the White family, whose descendants still own and live in the property today.
During the 19th century, the building was extended with two additional wings. The family then opened the home and garden to the public in 1946. There is even a bed and breakfast in the East Wing of the house.
The house boasts an incredible collection of period art and furniture. Don’t miss the tapestries and mosaics.
On a nice day, make sure to pop outside to roam through the beautiful Italianate garden, with its terraces and sculptures.
Bantry House and Garden are open between April and October. An entrance fee applies.
