AN ANCIENT RESORT TOWN ALONG THE RING OF KERRY
Located on the edge of the Killarney National Park, the town of Killarney is the vibrant cultural hub of the area.
Early in history, it was a popular destination for wealthy English travellers. Today, it still boasts plenty of reasons to visit. One reason is its proximity to the national park, and another is its location along the Ring of Kerry. The famous Irish drive often starts and ends in Killarney.
We recommend making a stop in the town to see what it has to offer. Killarney is steeped in history and offers true Irish hospitality. It is even recognised as a centre for Irish traditional music! One of the historical highlights of the town is the 19th-century St Mary’s Cathedral.
From Killarney, we recommend exploring the national park. More specifically, Ross Castle and Muckross House and Abbey are within easy reach of the town.
