SEE ONE OF THE WORLD’S MOST FAMOUS BOOKS
One of the big highlights of visiting Dublin is a stop at the Old Library of Trinity College Dublin to take a peek at the famous Book of Kells. The book is part of the 6.2 million volumes and manuscripts of the Library of Trinity College.
The Book of Kells is a 9th-century gospel manuscript which contains the four Gospels of the life of Jesus Christ. It is famous throughout the world and is one of Ireland’s greatest culture treasures. The building itself, the Old Library, dates back to the 18th century.
Accessible via Fellows’ Square, the exhibition is open seven days a week, all year long. After seeing the Book of Kells, visitors will also get access to the Long Room, which houses 200,000 books in its beautiful wooden bookcases.
Adult tickets are available daily for a cost. We advise visitors to pre-book tickets, as queues on the day can be very lengthy.
