VISIT IRELAND’S MOST PRESTIGIOUS AND OLDEST UNIVERSITY
Located in the heart of Dublin, Trinity College (the only constituent of the University of Dublin) is Ireland’s oldest surviving university.
Founded in 1592, this renowned institution was modelled on likes of Oxford and Cambridge and is Ireland’s highest-ranking university to this day. It is home to 17,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students.
The college’s location in the city centre means it is easily accessible to locals and tourists alike. You can walk in through the main gate and walk along the four main squares of the college: Parliament Square, Library Square, Fellows’ Square and New Square.
If you head past the libraries, you can stroll around the Trinity Rugby Pitch and College Park. On the other side you’ll find the Zoological Museum.
The university also offers campus tours for a fee if you’re interested to learn more about its history, traditions and culture. The tours lasting roughly 30 minutes include entrance to the Book of Kells and Old Library Exhibition.
You can purchase tickets for a Trinity College Dublin tour at the Front Gate of the college.
