AN ICONIC AND ENCHANTING LOCATION
The Dark Hedges is the name for the gorgeous avenue lined with beech trees in the north of Northern Ireland.
Located near the town of Armoy, the row of trees was first planted by the famous House of Stuart royal family during the 18th century. Lined along the road, the Dark Hedges gave them an impressive arrival to the Stuart’s Georgian mansion, Gracehill House.
Today, it remains a magnificent sight to behold and striking feature as you approach Gracehill House. The Dark Hedges is also one of the most photographed places in Northern Ireland.
If it looks familiar that’s maybe because the location was featured in the Game of Thrones season 2 premiere, “The North Remembers”.
While you are in the area, we recommend stopping to admire Gracehill House or even taking a tour of the area with the Dark Hedges Experience.
