DRIVE MAMORE GAP FOR INCREDIBLE VIEWS OF THE REGION
The Gap of Mamore is a mountain pass located in the Urris Hills of the Inishowen peninsula in Donegal. For a long time, this was the only connection between Urris and Buncrana.
Driving from the south, you’ll get to admire the Mamore Gap in all its beauty. From the very top you’ll get a striking panoramic view over the bay below, including of Lough Swilly, Urris and the Fanad peninsula across the water.
It’s good to be aware that the ascent here has a gradient of almost 30%.
Near the top of the Gap, you can find holy relics. Pilgrims often visit, even climbing the Gap barefoot to celebrate the Feast of the Assumption in August.
