ENJOY WHITE SAND AND TURQUOISE WATERS
Glassilaun Bay is home to a gorgeous white sandy beach that will make you feel like you are almost in the Caribbean. Located between Renvyle and Killary Bay, Glassilaun is one of Connemara’s, or even Ireland’s, best beaches.
The waters of Glassilaun Bay are turquoise and ideal for a swim if the weather is good. With a scuba school nearby, the area is also popular with snorkellers and divers.
Take a stroll and enjoy the Atlantic sea views from the curving beach. You may find rock pools if the timing is right for low tide. A spot of careful rock climbing could reveal some of the local marine life in tide pools.
At high tide, anglers may also enjoy casting off into the blue-green waters from the rocks above water level.
To the northeast of the beach, you’ll see the impressive Mweelrea mountain rising to form a stunning backdrop.
